American Horror Story. I was hooked after the first 5 seconds. Literally. edit: I’m also a complete idiot.

30 Dec

edit: I get shit confused sometimes. Like I did in this post. I was thinking ‘Dylan McDermott’ yet, I couldn’t get ‘Dean’ out of my head…So, in a lovely twist of I’m-occasionally-a-fucking-idiot, I looked like I was totally talking about someone, who does really exist…but it wasn’t the person I was talking about. Yeah. My bad.

I’m usually late when it comes to watching tv shows…Actually, it’s more like, I hate 99% of what’s on. I used to watch the X-Files…it had been on for a couple years already when I got into it. And I watched it faithfully until almost the end…I would tape every single episode ((and I still have them up in the attic)). The only season I didn’t watch all of was the last season…I was not thrilled that Dogget and Reyes ((I probably totally misspelled that)) were made the main characters…It just didn’t sit well with me at all. After that, I really didn’t have a show that I followed. Yes, there were shows I’d watch…like ‘How Clean is Your House’ and ‘Ghost Hunters’ But like, serious shows, nope. Until ‘House M.D.’. I had heard about it, and was hooked from the pilot episode. I rented the DVD’s from Blockbuster, and got all caught up on the seasons so I could watch what was then on tv. I’ve got all the seasons on DVD now, however, when season 7 ended, and I learned that Cuddy wouldn’t be on it anymore…Let’s just say that so far in season 8, as much as I fucking adore Hugh Laurie, I only watched the first three episodes. And I watched them online, weeks after they’d been on. I didn’t like it one bit. I only watched them cause I had the day off from work and had nothing else to do. Needless to say, I had absolutely no desire to find out what happened after that last episode I watched. I haven’t found a tv show to watch since then.

Actually, that’s kind of a lie. I started watching ‘Weeds’ a while back…and I got through season 1, and really, really liked it. I will get onto the second season eventually…And there’s ‘True Blood’. I absolutely love that one :) I have every season, and have watched straight thru a few times…

So, I heard about ‘American Horror Story’ a while ago. I read that lots of people really liked it, but some things I read, people were saying it sucked. The day before yesterday, we weren’t doing much, and I thought of it again, so I decided to watch the pilot episode, to see if it was anything I’d be interested in.

When I say I was hooked after 5 seconds, that’s totally not a lie at all. That day, Mike and I watched the first 5 episodes straight through. Later on that night, after the kids went to bed, we watched to episode 9. Last nite, we finished episodes 9-12. Now, I’m starting from episode 1 all over again.

I think Moira is my favorite character. Young Moira is totally hot, and old Moira is just adorable making it impossible to not like her.

I’m not naïve to the ways of men. Their need to objectify, conquer. They see what they want to see. Women, however, see into the soul of a person.

Constance, while being a total douche bag, is also awesome. Without going over the whole entire cast, lets just say I like everyone ((I also learned, while I only remember seeing him in ‘The Messengers’ that Dylan McDermott is damn hot.)), almost…The one character I just can NOT stand, is Hayden.

Before I got through the first season, I looked on wikipedia and read a bit about the second season…well, by a *bit* I mean like all two sentences. Initially, I was like o_O…but now that I’ve seen the first season, I think that sounds pretty ok. I just hope I like the new cast as much as I like this one.

In non TV related stuff…Christmas vacation is almost over :( boo. Granted, I love basketball season, but it is nice to have our days and nights more relaxed. No rushing around and stuff…

Friggin weather tho! It’s been goddamn cold out! Which makes it take longer to warm up the house when we light the woodstove in the morning…Not yesterday, but…the day before, maybe, it rained. Like, absolutely poured *all day long*. We had had snow on the ground, and now it’s totally gone. Which is ok, I guess. Of course, I think it looks totally prettier out there when there’s snow. Now since it’s about 19 degrees out, I have beef stew going in the slow cooker :) It makes the house smell totally lovely, and the kids get all ‘oooh, can we eat now??’ lol.

Pictures! I reinstalled photoshop the other day, so everythings all good. Pretty helpful, too, since I was in the mood to go over some old shots :) I put them up on facebook, which means, yes, I’ll hotlink them. Yes, because I’m lazy.

Awww, my girls :) Shot just this past summer :)

This one was when we were still in Mass. Mac, at just over a year old :)

Mac, in 2010.

L. and her amazing grin :) From winter of 2010.

Mac, again in 2010. Her face is so amazing, but that old horrid yellow floor is forever distracting me :\

W., in November of 2008. I love his hair short, but I sometimes miss it long :)

Mac and Daddy, December 24, 2011.

The inside of our truck window, December 24, 2011. We took the kids sledding, just like we did the previous Christmas Eve. It was absolutely freezing out! The kind of cold where it was sunny, but sooo windy. And the wind was so cold, that when it hit you, it took your breath away. I stayed in the truck with W., and we only stayed for about a half hour.

I took our tree down two days after Christmas because I wanted to get the parlor back into order…and of course, because the living room was all clean and super nice looking, everyone wanted to hang out in there :) Shot Dec. 27, 2011.

I could probably get some good shots today…it’s bright and sunny out, so the living room is nicely lit. Actually, I think I will do that…G. is playing ‘Black Ops’, and L. is watching…Mac is giving her Barbie a haircut, even tho I asked her not to.

So…until…who knows.
